Organ donation should be mandatory.
Organ donation should be mandatory.
Some people have to wait a long time to get an organ.
Once you are added to the national organ transplant waiting list, you may receive an organ fairly quickly or you may wait many years. Well, people are waiting for an organ they become more and more unwell. Waiting is very hard for people that need organs because living without a working organ would be hard to do normal life every day.
Some people wait so long for organs they pass away.
20 people pass away every day from the lack of organs that are available for transplant. If everybody donated an organ there would be so many organs that would mean fewer people would pass.
Some people can’t donate their organs.
Some people cant people can donate a kidney or a lung, They must be in reasonably good health. Some would donate but they can’t so that's more people that can't get an organ.
Some statistics about organ donation 107,191 people are on the waiting list for an organ. 39,000 transplants were done in 2020. Every 9 minutes one more person is added to the waiting list.
